“Sanctuary for the Goddess: The Legacy of Visionary Artist Ted Specker” is now showing at Columbus Village Library. The show will be running through Monday afternoon March 9.
A reception in memory of Sylvia Brenner, who passed away Feb. 4 at her home in Columbus, will be at 9 am, Saturday, March 7th at the library.
Ted Specker lived at City of the Sun in earth dwellings he constructed. The Smithsonian Institution documented two of his outdoor sculptures, which were featured in a Smithsonian publication, “Architecture as Art”.
Sylvia Brenner, a long time resident of City of the Sun and the world, curated this show for the Deming Arts Center which was shown in July 2019. Her vision was always to have it shown in Columbus. Thanks to Maria Ehlers, Columbus Village librarian, the show is here for residents to see. The show will be on display during library hours.
The show was hung by Diana LeMarbe, Taras Mychalewych and Helena Myers.
