The Cabalgata Binacional announced an extended route following 2 years of limited celebrations due to Covid-19. Riders who complete the full voyage will be on the trail for 18 days. Previous years have averaged about 10 days of horseback travel.

On February 23, 2022 riders will depart from Hacienda San Geronimo in Bachiniva following a route that takes them through 13 municipalities. Each municipality (or county) will host them with food for riders and their horses as well as designated camping areas, port-a-potties, police escorts and veterinarians.
