LAS CRUCES, NM – Audiences have something special to look forward to in December as the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra features its string musicians and guest violinist, David Felberg.
Felberg is a violin instructor at the University of New Mexico, concertmaster of the Santa Fe Symphony and a regular conductor of the New Mexico Philharmonic and the Santa Fe Symphony. He will make the trek down from Albuquerque in December to perform with and conduct the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra strings in a chamber concert, rounding out the end of the first half of the season.
The December Chamber Concert will feature four compositions, two of which are reinterpretations of Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, which is always an audience favorite. Enjoy a recomposition of the concerti by Max Richter and a stylized reinterpretation by Argentine tango composer Astor Piazzola, The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.
This year-end concert will be performed on Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14 at the First Presbyterian Church on Boutz Road – not the symphony’s typical venue. Tickets for both concert dates are $35 and available for purchase online at lascrucessymphony.com or by calling 575-646-3709.
